DRDP
The Desired Results Developmental Profile is a formative assessment instrument developed by the California Department of Education for young children and their families to be used to inform instruction and program development.
It is administered every year to infants, toddlers, preschool, TK, and K students with IFSPs or IEPs. Any student who will be turning 6 at any point during the academic year (7/1-6/30) will not be required to have a DRDP completed for Fall or Spring. Required Training
Training courses can be accessed at DR Access Learn - draccesslearn.org
All assessors—regardless of experience—are required to complete the new training courses.
-
It is strongly encouraged to do so by November 30, 2026.
-
The accuracy and validity of assessment implementation is important. The resulting data drives student instruction and informs statewide indicators.
All courses are newly designed to align with the DRDP 2025 revisions and provide clearer guidance on observation, documentation, rating practices, and meaningful opportunities to practice and apply learning.
